Workshop with Ruth Park
Aim : Build something big.
Fantastic studio and atmosphere, a group of 8 women all building
fairly big projects, we are using BRT Clay.
We used this tool that slices of the first slab from the pug so that you have a flat start.
Ruth then divided the pug into 6 slices, using a skewer to make the line, then we cut the slices, and proceeded to divide them into three, you end up with a load of cubed coils, which you then massage into a rounded coil, and proceed to roll out.
I have never done this before, it was great and meant that you are ready to build a resonable sized piece.
I have built or am still building a child sitting on an antique chair that I had bought, this was done in one day, tomorrow it will be time to refine todays efforts.

For the past six decades on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we in Australia have stopped still and honoured those who gave their lives with the intention of Peace on Earth.

Now in this auspicious year 2011, at what seems to be the 11th hour of sustainable LIFE ON EARTH, there is a world-wide calling to gather in celebration, honouring the mother earth, the waters, the atmospheres and all our relations.

Let us acknowledge our human powers
of COMMUNITY and COMMUNICATION
for CREATION and MANIFESTATION
of PEACE on EARTH ♥

Wave of Peace

I was at a workshop put together by Screeworks Australia,  I was the only visual artist there, the rest of the crew about ten were filmakers.

I met Lila there, this is her project Wave of  Peace its due to happen on the eleventh of the eleventh I am hoping to help her spread the word, and the word is

PEACE

Zines are out there and happening, did you?

There are really cool zines put together by artists, writers, poets, anyone and everyone can get published at this site, and you can buy the zines and they are really cheap!
so exciting, well I think so.
I am in the process of making my first zine I will load it here when it is done.

Transporting Greenware

Yet again whilst transporting greenware from my studio to a place with a kiln, I break bits and pieces.
Uni has shut it doors down for the break and so I have had to find a new kiln to fire in, Northern rivers Pottery suppliers do the job, in Lismore, still a fare hike for me.
I finally met Paula the woman that runs the show, she is lovely, I have left my pieces with her. She showed me some melt down’s they had last week in the storm which knocked the thermo out, the kiln got to 1500 degrees, there were lots of fully glazed pieces looking like something out of a Salvadore Dali Painting.
I am only bisque firing but I hope there is no more storms.
